Civilian linked to kidnap-murder of online seller nabbed

CABANATUAN CITY – Police on Tuesday arrested in Cagayan province a civilian tagged, along with five Nueva Ecija cops, in the kidnap-slay of jewelry online seller Nadia Casar.

Nabbed was Franklin Macapagal alias “Kelly,” 40, of Univille Subdivision, Bgy. Bangad, this city.

Macapagal was caught at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday in manhunt operations in Bgy. Sampaguita, Solana, Cagayan by joint members of the Anti-Kidnapping Group, the Nueva Ecija police and the Solana PNP.

Police served him an arrest warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 issued by a Cabanatuan City local court, with bail set at P200,000.

The Cabanatuan City police tagged him as the city’s 15th most wanted felon.

Provincial police director Col. Jaime Santos said the arrested suspect was turned over to the custody of PNP-AKG Capt. Allan Dale Ginez for further investigation.
