A COUPLE wanted for large-scale illegal recruitment, syndicated estafa and human trafficking in Mimaropa region on Wednesday was arrested by agents of the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) in a manhunt operation in San Mateo, Rizal.

Identified thru their aliases “Andres” and “Marites” and both residents of Poblacion, San Pascual, Batangas, the two were placed under arrest by members of the CIDG Anti-Transnational Crime Unit outside the San Mateo Hall of Justice shortly before noon Wednesday, said PNP-CIDG director Brig. The official described the two as the second and third most wanted persons in Mimaropa region, where they are the subject of non-bailable warrants of arrest for large-scale illegal recruitment, syndicated estafa, qualified trafficking in persons and qualified attempted trafficking in persons issued by Judge Paz Soledad Rodriguez-Cayetano of the Puerto Princesa City Regional Trial Court Branch 49 in Palawan last December 4.
