PHILIPPINE National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) Director Brigadier General Ronald O. Lee, on Monday, announced the arrest of three “most wanted persons” (MWPs) in the country in the wake of their intensified anti-criminality campaign.

The official said that one of the suspects, a resident of Barangay Inocencio in Trece Martirez City in Cavite, was arrested on Saturday for syndicated estafa.

Lee said that members of the CIDG Major Crime Investigation Unit placed the accused under arrest on the strength of four arrest warrants issued by Judge Rey Lor of the Antipolo City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 38.

The 2nd MWP, a jobless resident of Bgy. Crossing Sta. Clara in Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay, was arrested last Thursday by members of the local CIDG Provincial Field Unit based on a warrant for illegal possession of explosives issued by Judge Anthony Isaw of the Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay RTC Br. 24.

Judge Isaw recommended no bail for the temporary liberty of the accused, who the PNP-CIDG also described as being hunted for his involvement in car theft, robbery-holdup, and gun-for-hire activities in the province since 2018.

The 3rd suspect, tagged as the no. 2 MWP in the Calabarzon (Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon) region, was tracked down in his hiding place in Sitio Ilaya in Bgy. San Andres in Candeleria, Quezon by local CIDG operatives.

Lee said that the suspect is the subject of a non-bailable warrant of arrest for murder issued on October 20, 2021, by Judge Dennis Galahad Orendain of the Lucena City RTC Br. 53.
