ALERT personnel of the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) arrested a Chinese national and his Filipino bodyguard while on board a stolen vehicle Saturday evening in Paranaque City.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg identified the arrested suspects as Long Fei Yuan, 21, businessman, and his driver/bodyguard Randy Obiar, 38 who yielded a .9mm Armscor pistol, four magazines, 53 live ammunition and Swiss knife placed inside his sling bag.

Macaraeg said PITX Security OIC France Cadano and responding operatives of the Paranaque police also recovered from the Chinese national a black sling bag containing P1,252,000.

Investigation conducted by the Paranaque Station Investigation and Detective Management Section (SIDMS) showed that around 3:32 p.m. on Friday, Shuai Hu, a Chinese national, sought the assistance of PITX security office after his vehicle, a Toyota Altis, was stolen while parked at the 3rd floor parking area of the building.

At around 6:50 p.m. Saturday, the reported stolen vehicle entered the parking area of PTIX Building which prompted Ronalyn Hernandez, duty parking cashier, to seek assistance from security personnel that resulted in the arrest of the suspects.

The arrested suspects were presented for inquest proceedings before the Paranaque City Prosecutor’s Office for carnapping, violation of R.A. 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Act and BP-6 or illegal possession of deadly weapon in relation to the Omnibus Election Code.

“Aggressive police operations and other police interventions will be conducted to reduce the number of crimes involving Chinese Nationals victimizing their compatriots” Macaraeg said adding that the incident should not be tolerated and all lawbreakers will be apprehended regardless of their nationality.
