CHERY Tiggo bested Farm Fresh, 21-25, 25-14, 25-17, 25-20, to rediscover its winning ways last night in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Philsports Arena.

Cess Robles had 21 points, including three service aces and two blocks, and eight digs while Ara Galang added 20 points, including four blocks as the Crossovers chalked up their fifth win in eight matches.

Coming off a heartbreaking five-set defeat after squandering a two-set and a 10-18 third set lead to PetroGazz, Chery Tiggo learned it the hard way.

Robles know that the loss to the Angels may go either way to the Crossovers – to dwell it over or to pick up the lessons and focus on what currently lies on the table.

“After the PetroGazz game, nag-usap-usap kami kasi siyempre sayang ang third set na nangyari. So kami, hindi puwedeng mangyari ulit sa amin iyon kasi alam na namin kapag nag-relax kami, iyon ang mangyayari sa amin,” said Robles.

“So ngayon, ginawa namin lahat na manalo kami ng four sets,” she added.

Chery Tiggo played without main libero Jen Nierva, who hurt her knee in their last game.

Karen Verdeflor stepped up in the absence of Nierva as the rookie defensive specialist collected 24 digs and nine receptions.

Cza Carandang was the other Crossover in double digits while Shaya Adorador, who started in the second set, logged seven points and four receptions.

The Foxies, who were led by Trisha Tubu’s 15 points, slid to 3-4.

Up next for Chery Tiggo is ZUS Coffee, while Farm Fresh will take on Galeries Tower on Thursday at the same Pasig venue.
