Ferrer will be back as local chief executive for the second time as city mayor after his nine-year term as representative of Cavite 6th District.

He was the mayor of the municipality from 2004 to 2013.

During his interview with Cheryl Cosim and Jay Taruc over “All Politics is Local” on One News PH channel, Mayor-elect Ferrer admitted that they have a “different styles of leadership” approaches but they have the same goal to “improve the life” of each GenTriseños and the progressive locality.

According to Congressman-elect Antonio “Ony” Ferrer, “Dito nag-uusap kami palagi ni Jon Jon, nagtutulungan kami, tulad ng mga projects namin na hindi kailangan ng local, dito na pumapasok ang pondo coming from the national funds.”

“For the past nine years, malaki po ang pagbabago, kase po, una magaling po yung susundan kong Mayor, ipagpapatuloy po natin bilang alkalde ang mga natigil na mga program ng dumating ang pandemic,” Jon Jon Ferrer said.

“Isa sa magandang program na nag-compensate tulad ng sa Education, when Jon Jon was congressman, Ang dami din niya napagawang school buildings, kagandahan dito, yung educational fund ng local hindi namin nagagalaw, na divert namin sa ibang paraan like educational assistance for elementary, high school, senior high ,and college students, mas maraming nabibigyan,” Ony Ferrer said.

The mayor-elect said that he would focus on the garbage problem in his first 100 days.

The GenTri local government is studying to reduce the volume of trash or waste disposal in the locality, eyeing to improve the waste segregation from household to the village to the barangay level.

“Sa pagdami ng population namin na sa ngayon ay nasa around 450,000 individuals na kame, kasabay nito ay pagdami din ng basura, that we spend around P250M a year for waste disposal,” Ony Ferrer said.

“I encourage all the residents to continue practicing the waste segregation from each household, it helps our environment and waste disposal. Malaking bagay po ito para makabawas sa basurang hahakutin ng trash trucks, and at the same time, you can sell the used bottles, newspapers, cartons, scrap steel, and plastics,” the newly-elected mayor added.
