Chanda2Chanda1CHANDA Romero is thankful to be part of “Prima Donnas” that is now on its Book 2. She plays the pivotal role of Lady Prima Claveria, the grandma of the three Donnas.

“Our lock in taping for Book 2 lasted for a straight 82 days, almost three months,” she says. “ And we have really become a family whose members deeply care for each other. I really love this family kasi three years na kaming magkakasama since we started in 2019. We saw the three girls who play the Donnas, Jillian Ward, Althea Ablan and Sofia Pablo growing up. They’re now more mature, mas lalong gumaling sa acting nila. I also appreciate my husband (Jose Mari Alejandrino) who understood we’d be away from each other for three months, no questions asked when I told it we’d we’d do it in one go.”

She says their second lock in taping was harder than the first one. “Yes, I must admit that the last lock in taping was much more difficult as we have stricter protocols. At first, I got disoriented. I was sleep deprived. But I did draw strength from our director, Gina Alajar, who started a Bible study group and it became a habit for us that before taping starts, we pray and it does help a lot. We all decided to do this lock in taping in one go instead of having a break, kasi it’s just a waste of time kung may break pa and we might get the virus.”

Katrina Halili thanked her for being a big help when Kat got sick on the set. “Ay, kawawa siya. We thought at first na muscular pain lang ‘yung nararamdaman niya. She took pain relievers, but it didn’t work. But she’d still report to work and act on camera like she’s not in pain. It was a test for all of us. Our faith and our love for each other helped us survive those 82 taping days. Pinaghirapan talaga naman ito so don’t miss ‘Prima Donnas Book 2’ when it starts on January 17 with the recap of Book 1 and with fresh new episodes starting to air on January 24.”
