COMBINED agents of the Bohol Police Provincial Office and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Thursday arrested a ‘high-value target’ in Central Visayas during an operation in Tagbilaran City which led in the seizure of P1 million worth of shabu, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar said.

The official identified the suspect as Palawan Macaorog, 51, resident of Bgy. Taloto, Tagbilaran City, who is included in the watchlist of the PNP and the PDEA.

Citing a report from the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7, Eleazar said the suspect was arrested in his residence at CPG Norte Avenue, Muslim Village in Purok 6, Bgy. Taloto which was raided by officers on the strength of a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Recovered during the operation were 150 grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ with a Dangerous Drugs Board value of P1,020,000.00.

The suspect is now being held at the Tagbilaran City police lock-up facility facing a non-bailable case for illegal possession of prohibited drugs under RA 9165.

“The Philippine National Police will continue to strengthen its operational capacity to step-up the campaign against illegal drugs in the country under our Intensified Cleanliness Policy. We will never lower our guard against the drug syndicates, rather we will reinforce our coordination with our partner agencies especially with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency that has been at the forefront of this war on drugs,” said Eleazar as he commended the PRO7 headed by Brigadier Gen. Ronnie S. Montejo for their latest accomplishment in their crackdown against illegal drug trafficking and abuse.
