STA.Rosa, Laguna — – Cebu Chooks opened its campaign in the 2022 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 Quest 2.0 on a bright note, beating Makati MNL Kingpin, 21-11, and Butuan Chooks, 21-15 at the Ayala Malls Solenad here Sunday.

Marcus Hammonds was the man of the hour for Cebu as he scored 11 points to lead the country’s top-ranked 3×3 team to victory over Makati.

Hammonds was ably supported by Mike Harry Nzeusseu, who finished with five points; Mac Tallo, who added three points; and Brandon Ramirez, who contributed two points for Cebu.

Against Butuan, Nzeusseu had eight points and Hammonds and Tallo had five points each for Cebu’s second straight win.

Manila Chooks matched Cebu’s 2-0 start by beating Quezon City, 21-13, and Talisay, 19-10, in Pool B.

Butuan Chooks earlier dominated Botolan Hayati, 21-9.

JP Cauilan led Butuan with 14 points to roll back the Gerald Anderson-led Botolan.

Jason Strait and Moustapha Arafat combined for seven points for Butuan.

Former University of the East Red Warrior Leon Lorenzana scored 10 points, all of them from beyond the arc to power Manila to victory.

Dave Ando and Henry Iloka added four points each while Dennis Santos had three.

Talisay got 14 points from comebacking Paul Desiderio to beat GenSan in the fourth match of the day.
