Former Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano’s Sari-Saring Pag-asa program has almost reached 6,000 beneficiaries nationwide.

The Sari-Saring Pag-asa of Cayetano has been giving away financial assistance to small store owners affected by the coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19).

An additional 100 sari-sari store owners received P3,500 each under the Sari-Saring Pag-asa program, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 5,937.

Sixty beneficiaries of the program came from Laoag City, Ilocos Norte; Urbiztondo, Pangasinan; and San Fernando City, La Union while the remaining 40 beneficiaries were selected through an online system.

Residents of Ilocos Norte have expressed their gratitude to the program while Pangasinan 5th District Rep. Ramon Guico III and his wife, Maan Tuazon Guico also thanked Cayetano for all the assistance he has been extending to small business owners.

The Sari-Saring Pag-asa program provides P3,500 each to struggling sari-sari store owners pre-selected from across the country.

It aims to help the owners replenish their store’s supplies and increase their income amid the pandemic.

Aside from Ilocandia and Northern Luzon, the Sari-Saring Pag-Asa of Cayetano has reached Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and the National Capital Region (NCR).

The program also benefitted people from Baguio City, Bulacan, Pampanga, Zambales, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod, Leyte and Samar and many places in Mindanao like Davao, Zamboanga, Cagayan De Oro, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), General Santos and many others.
