CAVITE Police Provincial Office (CPPO) Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Colonel Christopher F. Olazo on Tuesday announced the arrest of four major lawbreakers in the province following a series of anti-crime operations last week.

In a report to Police Regional Office 4-A (PRO4-A) Director Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Olazo said that one of the suspects was arrested for killing a Coast Guard officer in Indang around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

The suspect repeatedly shot the victim without any provocation before fleeing on foot.

The Coast Guard officer suffered several gunshot wounds and was taken to the General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital, where an attending physician declared him dead upon arrival.

The suspect, who happened to be a relative of the slain Coast Guard officer’s wife, was arrested by members of the Indang Municipal Police Station following a hot pursuit operation.

Olazo said that the 2nd suspect was arrested in San Jose del Monte City for killing a teenage girl in Trece Martires City, Cavite and whose body was found on Sept. 13.

The official said that members of the Trece Martires City Police Station, headed by Lt. Col. Jonathan Asinan, in coordination with the San Jose del Monte City PS (Police Station) led by Lt. Col. Cresenciano Cordero Jr., tracked down the suspect with the help of some informants.

The 3rd suspect was arrested in a barangay in Indang municipality on the strength of a warrant of arrest for rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse Law issued by Judge Lerio Castigador of the Naic, Cavite Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 15.

Officers from the Cavite Provincial Intelligence Unit arrested the suspect.

The 4th suspect, also from Indang, was arrested based on a warrant for three counts of rape in relation to RA 7610 and acts of lasciviousness issued by Judge Jimmy Boco of the Tagum City RTC Br. 2 in Davao del Norte.

Olazo said that the accused is a native of Davao del Norte who became one of Region 11’s most wanted persons (MWPs), prompting him to hide in Cavite.
