WarrantOPERATIVES of the Philippine National Police Calabarzon (Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon) Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) arrested on Sunday, (Sept. 25, 2022) a “notorious” robber who had allegedly victimized more or less 20 Indian nationals in a string of holdups in Silang town and other parts of Cavite.

The suspect was collared during a lightning raid in his hideout in a thickly populated area of Barangay Bulihan in the town, police reported yesterday.

Police also found out that the suspect with the alias “Palos”, has a pending murder case set for a preliminary hearing before the office of the provincial prosecutor in Imus City slated next month (Oct. 6). He is listed as Cavite’s no. 6 most wanted criminal in the province.

The lawmen headed by Police Executive Master Sergeant Paquito E. Chan confirmed that the suspect also has a standing arrest warrant issued by Judge Mennelli Rocio-Carvajal of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 18 in Tagaytay City for robbery with violence against or intimidation of person.

RMFB Chief P/Lt. Col. Agosto Asuncion reported to PNP R4A (Regional 4A) Director P/Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. that the suspect was also tagged as a principal suspect in the killing of an Imus resident a few months ago but managed to evade arrest when operatives of the Cavite Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) raided his hiding place in Yakal Street also in Bgy. Bulihan last week.

After the killing, the suspect, a security guard, allegedly sought refuge for six days at a relative’s house in a still unspecified place.

Asuncion and Chan got wind of the suspect’s whereabouts from their police asset that the suspect would be coming back to his house in Yakal St. on Monday night, prompting them to alert other PNP R4A police operatives from the Regional District Unit (RID) and local policemen in Silang town.
