Cavite LGU distributes oxygen tanks to homeowners

GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite – The local government unit has started the distribution of oxygen tanks and regulators to 57 Homeowners Associations in the 33 barangays in this city as part of its COVID-19 response.

Mayor Ony Ferrer said the oxygen units can be used by residents in need of oxygen supplementation or who are experiencing difficulty in breathing while undergoing strict home quarantine.

The distribution was overseen by the office of Ferrer and Congressman Luis Ferrer IV, in collaboration with Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Health chair councilor Kristine Perdito Barison, and SP Committee on Housing chairman Jonas Porto Labuguen.

Around 105 complete sets of oxygen tanks and regulators were distributed to respective homeowners association for the quick response of the city health office.

“Ito po ay bilang paghahanda or baka sakaling may mangailangan ng oxygen, nahihirapan huminga or in-need of medical attention, meron po agad tayo maibibigay sa pasyente while waiting for ambulance, kasi po iba na po and Covid ngayon, it’s more contagious,” city health officer Dr. Jonathan Luseco said.

General Trias has 11,727 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 131 new of 733 active cases; 63 new out of 10,809 total recoveries, and 185 deaths.
