Cavite City mayor’s camp denies rape raps
THE legal counsel of Cavite City Mayor Bernardo Paredes has denied the rape and child abuse accusations filed by a 17-year-old girl against the mayor.
The denial was made by lawyer Antonio Luis Paredes quoting from the mayor’s 11-page counter-affidavit submitted to the Office of the City Prosecutor of Mandaluyong City.
“The filing of the instant complaint was timed during the election season,” he added.
He likewise noted that “it took the complainant a period of almost three years and eight months to file the instant complaint in Mandaluyong City.”
