CAVITE CITY – The city government here, led by Mayor Denver Chua, is now firmly implementing the ordinance regulating the use of modified mufflers or exhaust pipes and similar devices on all types of motor vehicles resulting in the emission of excessively loud and unreasonable noise in the locality and providing penalties for violation.

The City Ordinance no 2022-3381, authored by Councilor Eduardo Novero Jr., chair Committee on Transportation, ordered the prohibited use of loud exhausts or “open pipes” on motorcycles within the city with appropriate fines and confiscation of exhaust.

According to Mayor Chua, the Cavite City Police and Public Safety and Traffic Bureau members have been designated as the implementing bodies of the said ordinance.

Violators will be fined P2,000 for the 1st offense, P3,00 for the 2nd offense, and P5,000 for the 3rd offense for the motorcycle unit owner and establishment or store owners selling modified mufflers and revocating business permits.
