AUTHORITIES seized more than P.4 million worth of illegal drugs from a 46-year-old carpenter tagged as a “high-value individual” (HVI) in a buy-bust operation Wednesday evening in Las Piñas City.
Las Piñas City Police Chief P/Col. Jaime Santos said the suspect, a resident of Camella Classic Homes, Bgy. Pilar was arrested by operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) after he sold P10,000 worth of shabu to a police poseur buyer at around 11:50 p.m. along Exodus Street, Camella Classic Homes.
Police seized three plastic sachets of shabu weighing 62 grams, valued at P421,600, and the marked money.
The suspect is presently detained at the Custodial Facility of Las Piñas City and will be facing a violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 while seized evidence was turned over to SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.
Outgoing SPD Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg lauded the unending effort of the operatives in the fight against illegal drugs.
“Ako ay nagpapasalamat dahil sa loob ng aking panunungkulan bilang inyong direktor ay patuloy kayong nagpapamalas ng inyong kasipagan lalong-lalo na sa ating kampanya sa ilegal na droga,” Macaraeg said.
