Carpenter held for gun ban violation

A 33-YEAR-OLD carpenter was arrested by authorities for illegally discharging a firearm in Nasugbu, Batangas Sunday.

Nasugbu Municipal Police station chief Major Mark Jason Gatdula identified the suspect as Jose Tolentino y Competente alias Badong, married, a carpenter, and resident of Sitio Barak, Bgy. Bunducan.

Case officer P/Cpl Raymart M. Cadeliña said around 9:50 p.m., a cellphone call was received by Nasugbu MPScoming from a concerned citizen and informed the person who illegally discharged his firearm in the vicinity of Sitio Barak.

Police personnel led by P/SSg Garry Felicisimo immediately proceeded to the said place.

Upon arrival, the suspect was seen walking with a gun in his hand and was quickly apprehended.

They recovered one Armscor caliber .38 revolver with serial number 929044, three pieces of live ammo, and two fired cartridge casings all for the same caliber.

The arrested suspect was charged for Alarm and Scandal, violation of RA 10591, and Omnibus Election Code in relation to Comelec Resolution no 10728 was brought to the police station for more investigation and proper disposition.
