PHILIPPINE National Police chief General Dionardo B. Carlos yesterday lauded the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO 6) in Western Visayas for scoring major accomplishments as a result of their conduct of Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation or SACLEO last week.

Citing an Operational Accomplishment Report from PRO6 director Brig. Gen. Flynn E. Dongbo, the PNP chief said that the Western Visayas policemen arrested a total of 299 law offenders composed of 90 wanted persons, 27 drug suspects, 140 illegal gambling personalities, 35 illegal fishermen, and seven others in possession of loose firearms as a result of their February 5 to 12 SACLEO which is previously known as the week-long PNP’s “One-Time, Big-Time” anti-criminality drive.

Gen. Carlos said that PRO6 Drug Enforcement Units also conducted 25 anti-narcotics operations during the period which led to the confiscation of 753.012 grams of shabu worth P5.120 million.

All arrested drug traffickers are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, he said.

Brig. Gen. Dongbo said that last week also saw the surrender of four members of the New People’s Army in the region to avail of the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) for rebel returnees.

“These accomplishments exemplify your hard work and commitment to further intensify our strategies on our campaign against criminality, illegal drugs, corruption, and insurgency in the country,” the PNP chief said.

“I firmly believe that through strengthened collaboration with our external stakeholders we can defeat lawlessness and bring peace to this nation,” Gen. Carlos added.
