A ROOKIE policewoman from the Police Regional Office 13 is now facing summary dismissal proceedings after testing positive for shabu during a surprise drug inspection, Police Regional Office 13 director, Brigadier General Romeo M. Caramat Jr. said on Tuesday.

The Caraga police director identified the cop as Patrolwoman Kizea Kaye Golindang, a member of the Butuan City Mobile Force Company’s 3rd Platoon.

“Pat. Golindang will automatically be dismissed from the police force in line with the intensified internal cleansing program ordered by our chief, General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar,” Brig. Gen. Caramat said.

As of Tuesday, the official said that Golindang is already facing a pre-charge investigation and summary dismissal proceedings.

According to Caramat, Pat. Golindang was among the 24 members of the Butuan City Mobile Force Company who were subjected to a random drug test last September 7 by personnel from the Regional Crime Laboratory Office 13.

Caramat said that of the 24 police personnel screened, only Pat. Golindang’s urine specimen tested positive during an initial screening test and a subsequent confirmatory test.

Caramat said that he has ordered the PRO13 Regional Intelligence Division to spearhead the conduct of random drug testing of their personnel as part of their effort to ensure that all Caraga policemen are drug-free.

“There is no room for any drug-using policemen in the PNP and as instructed by Gen. Eleazar, I will see to it that those who will be found to be using illegal drugs in the Caraga police force will be dismissed from the service for grave misconduct,” said the PRO13 director.

Since he took over as Caraga police director on September last year, the official said two PRO13 personnel have tested positive for use of prohibited drugs-the latest of which is Golindang.
