A CANADIAN national bound for Canada via South Korea Sunday night lost his temper when personnel of Korean Airlines at the counters of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminal 1 refused to board him on the said flight due to RT-PCR test results which has aready expired for five hours.

The Canadian passenger identified as Jim Robert, in his mid-30’s, was scheduled to depart for Canada via Incheon, South Korea last Sunday night. He arrived at NAIA at around 8 p.m. for his 11:55 p.m. flight KE 624.

Robert presented his RT-PCR negative test results to airline personnel and was told that he cannot board his flight because his RT-PCR test result had expired five hours from his flight.

Robert pleaded to allow him to board his flight but the airline personnel explained, “We cannot do that, the airline will be penalized when we allow you to board and we only allow passengers with negative results issued within 72 hours and beyond that we will not allow.”

Robert started raising his voice, pleading to allow him to board his flight and was even heard saying, “It’s only five hours, why can’t you understand my situation and be reasonable?”

Airport policemen rushed to calm Robert who offered his arms for handcuffing.

Police did not handcuff. The airport policemen talked to the airline to help Robert take his flight but the personnel again refused.

Robert was brought to the arrival extension to relax and was told to rebook his flight and undergo another RT-PCR test.

Robert replied he does not have the money anymore since he came from Southern Leyte.

The airport policemen told Robert to call his Embassy for assistance
