LAS Piñas Representative Camille Villar, a senatorial candidate under Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas, said local government officials are the key to the successful implementation of programs to promote food security, jobs and livelihood opportunities, and decent housing to families.

Villar vowed to to work with them when putting forward legislation to improve the welfare of Filipinos.

During the 2025 General Assembly of the League of Municipalities, Villar said: “Iisa ang ating mga hangarin, we share the same vision, and that is to lead our people to that road to progress. Let us all work together so that we can all keep on moving forward to progress, not just for today but for future generations.”

She added: “Naiintindihan natin ang pangarap ng bawat Filipino – kabuhayan, trabaho, pabahay, pagkain. Ipa-prioritize po natin ang mga iyan.”

Villar underscored that local executives are the bridges that connect the national government to communities.

“Each of you play a critical role in shaping the future of our nation. You are the front line of governance: while national policies may guide the ‘big picture’ of our country, it is at the local level — through your leadership — that real change happens. From providing basic services to driving innovation, your work feels the pulse and impacts the daily lives of our people,” Villar said.

“You are the real nation-builders. Napakalaki ng pasasalamat namin dahil sa inyong kahusayan bilang mga local chief ay tuloy-tuloy ang pag-angat ng buhay ng ating mga kababayan. Kayo na nakatutok sa araw-araw na pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan. Salamat po sa inyong walang sawang pagsisilbi. You are the leadership team that ensures that we stay the course, that no Filipino is left behind, and that we build a brighter, more sustainable future—one community at a time,” she also said.

Villar, who is presenting herself as the voice of the future leaders of the country, is running on a platform of advancing the interests of women and children; the youth; and the marginalized, seniors and persons with disabilities.

Providing decent homes to all families, finding jobs, promoting livelihood opportunities, and helping micro, small and medium enterprises are also among Villar’s priority programs.
