Caloocan starts giving boosters to A1 group

THE city government of Caloocan started giving COVID-19 booster shots to fully vaccinated medical health workers or the A1 priority group.

Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan said medical frontliners will be allowed to receive booster shots six months after receiving their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Earlier, the Department of Health (DOH) stated that healthcare workers can choose the same vaccine brand that they originally received for their booster shot or opt for a different one from the recommended brand mixing by the Food and Drug Administration.

The DOH said that for those who received Sinovac as their primary vaccine, their booster shot can be Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, or Moderna whilr for Pfizer, it is Pfizer, AstraZeneca or Moderna, and for AstraZeneca, it can be AstraZeneca, Pfizer, or Moderna,

The Caloocan City Health Office meanwhile announced that non-resident healthcare workers will also be allowed to receive booster shots in any of the two city-run hospitals, the Caloocan City Medical Center and the Caloocan City North Medical Center or to any open vaccination site with recommended brand of booster shot.
