Caloocan SP approves discounts for jabbed folk
THE SANGGUNIANG Panlungsod (SP) of Caloocan has approved a measure urging business establishments to give discounts to fully vaccinated individuals.
The members of the Sanggunian approved Resolution no. 11-570 filed by Coun. Orvince ‘ConVINCEd’ Howard Hernandez with Couns. Vincent Ryan Malapitan and Majority Leader Edgardo Aruelo.
Based on the resolution, all local establishments in the city were urged to give discounts on their products and services to those who have completed their vaccination against COVID 19.
In his sponsorship speech, Hernandez said since March, the local government has started vaccination program for all residents aiming to back to normal situation.
Hernandez noted that in the firt four months of vaccination, more than 500,000 individuals of the total 1.1 million Caloocan residents were vaccinated.
At present, there are few business establishments have volunatarily give discounts to vaccinated individuals.
However, Hernandez, known as the Milenyal na Konsehal, admitted that more efforts are needed to encourage everyone to have vaccine.
“Sa aming Facebook account ay isa-isa rin naming pinagsasalita o pinagagawa ng video ang ilang SK Chairmen, Barangay Officials o HOA officers upang makahiyakat ng mga kababayan sa pagpapabakuna,” Hernandez said.
Hernandez, meanwhile clarified that they will not mandate every business establishment to give discounts but it is highly encouraged.
“Kumbinsido kami na sa bakuna taob ang pandemya, kaya dapat ay maging kumbinsido rin naming kayo,” Konsi Vince added.
