THE Caloocan City local government unit (LGU) conducted reach-out operations in various barangays in North Caloocan to help street dwellers, especially children at risk, Friday afternoon.

The City Social Welfare Development Department (CSWDD) assisted 34 individuals from Barangay 170, 174, 175, 177, 178, and 188.

According to CSWDD Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Roberto Quizon, the department conducts reach-out operations aligned with Mayor Along Malapitan’s directive to help the vulnerable sectors, including the homeless and troubled youth.

The said individuals were given medical assistance, antigen testing, hot meals, and counseling. Minor girls were directed to the city’s social development center, while minor boys were sent to Tahanang Mapagpala and Bahay Pag-Asa.

Mayor Along commended CSWDD for its efforts to help clear the streets and rescue the lives of individuals from harm and illegal drugs.
