Caloocan frontliners get free flu shots, vitamins

AROUND 1,300 health workers or frontliners already received free flu vaccine and vitamins as part of the vaccination program of the City Government of Caloocan.

City Human Resource and Management Department head Ms. Lorilei Del Carmen said 300 frontliners were added on Monday afternoon to the 100 employees who already received flu vaccine and vitamins on Sunday.

Caloocan City Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan said that under the city’s free flu vaccine program, around 5,000 employees of the local government who are considered frontliners will benefited from the program. These includes employees that provide health care services, peace and order, emergency response, and environmental sanitation, or who often engage in field work and respond to the needs of every citizens.

Earlier, Mayor Oca said this initiative aims to strengthen the immune system of all local government frontliners during this time of pandemic, especially senior citizen, person with comorbidity and those who are engage in field work.
