IN recognition of teachers’ sacrifices and hard work in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, Caloocan City Councilor Orvince Howard Hernandez launched a Tiktok challenge for them.

This was after the success of Tiktok Challenges for mothers and fathers last May and June as part of Mother’s Day and Father’s Day celebration.

Hernandez, knowns as the Milenyal na Konsehal, said this challenge dubbed as ‘Lodi kong Dancer sina Mam at Sir’ is a way to show importance to the contribution of teachers in time for the celebration of World Teachers’ Day in October.

“Ang ating mga guro sa ngayon ay hindi lamang nagsisilbing pangalawang magulang ng mga estudyante bagkus sila ay kabilang sa ating mga bagong bayani ngayong panahon ng pandemya,” Hernandez said.

The Tiktok Challenge is specifically for teachers of Caloocan City District 1. Contests for Districts 2 and 3 are being prepared.

Submission of Tiktok entries will start on August 25 and will end on September 10. The winners will be announced during the celebration of World Teachers’ Day.

Prizes at stake are P30,000 for grand winner ; P20,000 for 1st runner up and P10,000 for 2nd runner plus surprise prizes for other contestants.

Schools in Caloocan District 1 are encouraged to join by forming a group of teachers with less than 10 members each.

Contestants may send in their entries consisting of a two to three-minute dance video through [email protected] including the Tiktok Link, Name of School, Name of Teachers, Address, Barangay and Contact Number. For other details, check on Convinced Army Facebook Page.
