Caloocan conducts simultaneous clean-up drives
THE Caloocan Environmental Management Department (CEMD) and Public Safety and Traffic Management Department (PSTMD) conducted simultaneous clean-up drives on Saturday in the city upon the instruction of Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan.
Determined to set up a more “pleasant” vicinity in North Caloocan City Hall, the CEMD-North employees performed sweeping and declogging operations to ensure the orderliness of the main roads in South Caloocan, CEMD-South along with PSTMD employees conducted clean-up and flushing operations along Malolos Drive.
Mayor Malapitan expressed his appreciation and praised the employees for putting in extra effort and working weekends to ensure that Caloocan City is as pristine as possible.
“Nagpapasalamat tayo sa ating mga kawani na hindi alintana ang amoy, dumi at maging ang pagpasok ng Sabado para tiyakin na malinis ang Caloocan,” he said.
Likewise, Mayor Malapitan called on the citizens to cooperate with the city government’s efforts by securing proper waste segregation and disposal.
“Inaasahan ko pa po ang inyong tuloy-tuloy na pakikiisa sa ating hangarin. Ito rin ang ating panawagan sa ating mga kababayan na simulan natin ito sa ating mga tahanan, sa tamang pagsisilid at pagtatapon ng basura,” the Mayor request.
