THE Caloocan City Medical Center (CCMC) conducted a simultaneous dermatological mission in observation of the “Skin Disease Prevention Week” at Caloocan City Jail for approximately 400 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) and a regular medical mission in Villa Alicia in Barangay 171 on Saturday.

Earlier, Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan expressed his intention of an “inclusive government”, which likewise signifies that every person residing in the city, including PDLs, can access basic services such as health care.

According to CCMC Administrator Dr. Fernando Santos, PDLs received free consultation on their general health and possible skin diseases such as eczema, scabies, and boils, among others. The department also distributed free medicine and facilitated laboratory assessments as needed.

Meanwhile, aligned with providing services closer to communities, the city government also conducted a medical mission in Villa Alicia Phase 1, Barangay 171, providing free electrocardiogram tests, fasting blood sugar (FBS), and blood typing for its residents.

The said activities were also assisted by volunteers from Valenzuela Medical Center, Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center, and barangay health workers.
