THE city government of Caloocan, led by Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan, recognized the outstanding uniformed personnel of the Northern Police District (NPD) in the City of Caloocan.
A total of 19 police officers received a “Certificate of Commendation” for successfully conducting an entrapment operation last October 18 which resulted in the arrest of a 67-year-old suspect who violated Article 315 and Article 172 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC), also known as estafa or swindling; falsification by a private individual and use of falsified documents.
Mayor Along commended the law enforcement officers for their immediate action in arresting the suspect pretending to be a “lawyer” to extort money from his victims.
He emphasized that such acts shall not be condoned and likewise expressed his gratitude to the police for their hard work and dedication and called for their “continuous cooperation and support to ensure justice, peace and order in the city.”
Meanwhile, People’ Law Enforcement Board (PLEB) Officer in Charge, Atty. Benjamin Roque, who led the awarding ceremony, stated that they will not stop prioritizing the needs of the uniformed personnel and conduct training and seminars to capacitate them in providing services to the public. He also assured that they will continue to recognize their exemplary service.
Roque said.
The local chief executive congratulated the awardees and called for their continuous provision of genuine service from the heart for the welfare and well-being of everyone.
