CALOOCAN City was cited as among the Top 3 performing local government units (LGUs) on collection efficiency of Locally Sourced Revenues (LSR) for the Local Revenue Generation for Fiscal Year 2020 in the National Capital Region (NCR).

The Bureau of Local Government Finance awarded the achievement after the city reached its collection efficiency to 123.1% which is equivalent to P3,090.75M LSR, surpassing its target of P2,510.57M.

Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan explained that the LSR is the total collection for Real Property Tax, Local Business Tax, Professional Taxes, Community Taxes, Regulatory fees and other service charges, and receipts from economic enterprises.

“Sa kabila ng pandemya, ang mga buwis ay maayos na nakolekta sa lungsod ng Caloocan at naipasok sa kaban ng bayan. Nagbayad ang mga negosyante sapagkat may tiwala sila sa lokal na pamahalaan at maging sa ekonomiya ng lungsod,” Mayor Oca said.

He added that the award was just a proof that the local government carried out an orderly, honest and efficient systems in its tax collection.

“Noon pa man, ang direktiba na natin sa ating mga kasama sa Pamahalaang Lungsod ay tiyakin na mula sa pangongolekta ng buwis hanggang sa paglaan nito sa mga programa at proyekto ay maayos at nagagamit nang wasto para sa kapakanan ng tao,” Mayor Oca said.
