Calapan trader wanted for ‘rape’ falls

POLICE the other day reported that a 26-year-old businessman wanted for rape in Calapan was nabbed in a police checkpoint in Barangay District II, Lemery, Batangas.

Lemery Municipal Police Station (MPS) Chief PMaj. Francisco J. Lucena IV identified the accused as Randy Masangkay, Jr., single, a native of Calapan Mindoro and presently residing at Bgy. Palanas, this municipality.

Joint operatives of Lemery MPS, the lead unit, PS1 QCPD, CIDG, RFU 4B, conducted police operations against the accused in Bgy. District II Lemery at 5:00 p.m. to serve a warrant of arrest issued by acting Presiding Judge Cefelene R. Goco of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 40, 4th Judicial Region of Calapan City.

Based on the information, the said accused, listed as no. 10 most wanted in Calapan was monitored in San Luis, Batangas.

After receiving the information, the composite team immediately conducted an operation in San Luis town and chanced upon the suspect on board a motorcycle.

The operating team immediately chased the accused and with the help of police personnel manning checkpoint in Bgy. District II, in Lemery town, he was flagged down resulting in his arrest.
