Calamba SCs to receive birthday cash gifts
CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – In support of the senior citizens (SCs) of the city of Calamba, the said city will begin giving out cash gifts for all senior citizens who will celebrate their birthdays under the leadership of Mayor Roseller “Ross” Rizal.
Senior citizens who have a birthday in July will start receiving the P1,000 birthday incentive under the program initiated by Mayor Ross Rizal in the Sanggunian Panglungsod since he took office.
Mayor Ross believes it is time to “double” the current P500 the elderly sector receives every birthday.
He added that it is appropriate to return the “hard-earned” tax to the people through these types of benefits.
Currently, the distribution of incentives will be downed to their respective barangays following the directive of the local chief executive to bring the government “closer” to the people.
In this way, the grandparents do not need to walk or go far to receive the gift from the government.
The government has already distributed more than P1.5 million on September 14 to 2,307 beneficiaries who had their birthday in April.
It is estimated that 53 barangays have already distributed the said cash gift for SCs, and the remaining ones will start in the next few weeks.
