Calamba sari-sari store owner shot dead
A 34-year-old man was killed after he was shot by a still unidentified armed suspect while manning his sari-sari on Thursday night in Purok 4 Bgy. Parian, Calamba City, Laguna.
Calamba City police chief PLT.Col. Jonathan Villamor identified the slain victim as Noel Baustista Betito of Farconville Subd., Bgy. Parian in this city.
Police said the victim was pronounced dead in the spot due to serious wound he sustained from the unknown caliber gun used by the suspect.
Investigation conducted revealed that the shooting incident transpired at about 7:48 p.m. while the victim was inside the sari-sari store.
Based on the initial investigation conducted, while Betito was inside his sari-sari store, the unidentified suspect suddenly appeared armed with a short firearm of unknown caliber and without apparent reason fired on the victim which resulted in his instantaneous death.
After the incident, the suspect managed to escape, his direction unknown.
Motive is also unknown pending police follow up operation.
