WHAT’S the latest on swimming, volleyball and golf?

The answers will be known when the Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) holds the 125th episode of the “Usapang Sports on Air” via Zoom this Thursday

Two-time Olympian Jasmine Alkhaldi will talk about her plans and preparations in swimmng, Beach Volleyball RepublIc founder Charo Soriano and Jessie Lopez will discuss women’s and men’s volleyball and former ICTSI pro-am champion Ton Asistio will tell his stories about golf during the 10 a.m. sports program.

Alkaldi, who represented the country in the 2012 London Olympics and 2016 Rio Olympics, will discuss her preparations for next year’s Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam

The 28-year-old Filipina, who holds the national women’s record in the 200, 100, 50 metre freestyle and 100 metre butterfly and 50 metre butterfly events, also competed in an invitaional tournament in France three months ago.

Soriano will talk about the return of the BVR in a bubble set-up in Sta. Ana, Cagayan starting Friday, as well as the country’s preparations for the Asian Seniors Beach Volleyball Championship set on November 23-27 in Phuket, Thailand and SEA Games in Vietnam.

Asistio, who rose to prominence by winning the ICTSI Pro-Am golf championships in 2017, will talk about his plans in golf and his decision to serve the public by running as councilor in the 1st District of Caloocan.

TOPS president Ed Andaya of People’s Tonight is inviting all officers and members to attend the weekly public service program sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and Games and Amusements Board (GAB).

TOPS is composed of editors, columnists, reporters and photographers of the country’s leading national tabloids and friends from different social media groups.

This is the 125th episode of the TOPS “Usapang Sports” since its formal launch at the National Press Club in 2018 and its 67th edition since turning to a new platform due to the pandemic.

Veteran sportscaster Ernest Leo Hernandez is the moderator.
