SAN ANTONIO, Nueva Ecija – The completion of the Luyos-Buliran bridge across Pampanga River in this town has brought cheers to local residents, particularly netizens, who lauded its early reconstruction as some of them said it brought them closer once again to their fave fastfood joint in nearby Cabiao.

Netizens thanked DPWH Sec. Mark A. Villar for the newly-constructed bridge project, which serves as a vital road link between this town and nearby Cabiao, including Arayat, Pampanga.

The Luyos-Buliran Bridge was featured by Villar on his Facebook page wherein he mentioned that its completion would reduce travel time between the two towns of San Antonio and Cabiao by at least 45 minutes.

Netizens, including Bhie Cortez and Eva Matias Esluzar, who viewed Villar’s post, lauded the bridge’s early completion saying that travel time from barangay Buliran to KC-1 (San Francisco) both in this town would be shorter whereas before they need to go as far as Cabiao town then pass by San Isidro if they wanted to go back home to San Antonio.

Another netizen, Michelle Biala thanked Villar for the bridge project because it brought Jollibee closer to their place in San Antonio once again. She said her family was able to dine again at its fastfood branch in Cabiao. “Salamat sa Luyos-Buliran Bridge nakapag-Jollibee na ulit,” she said on her FB post.

Mayor Arvin C. Salonga thanked Villar for his efforts in fast-tracking the reconstruction of the bridge project which he said would help hasten the delivery of basic goods, particularly farm products, and agricultural services from this town to nearby towns of the province and Pampanga.

According to the DPWH website, the LBB project was built at a contract price of P57.31-million by the GVDPM Construction Corporation.

The contract agreement and notice to proceed for the project was approved by DPWH-Region 3 director Roseller A. Tolentino on May 20,2020 with the contractor given 180 days within which to complete the project.
