TELEVISION host Boy Abunda has issued an official statement to personally refute the spread of fake quote cards attributed to the statement of William Vincent ‘Vinny’ Marcos, youngest son of leading presidential candidate Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr.

“Our attention has been drawn to a false quote card that has been circulating on social media bearing the photo of William Vincent Marcos with a statement allegedly from his interview with Boy Abunda saying that his father, presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos was an addict,” Abunda’s opening statement on his FB page post released past 5 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

“The graphic or quote card was posted with the caption, “Sa anak na n’ya galing yan ha. Ngayon nyo sabihin na hindi addict ang kandidato nyo,” and made it appear that the quote therein is from an interview with Boy Abunda.

“This is false and manipulated content,” he added.

“We are aware that a lot of netizens have fallen victim to this malicious form of dangerous information and communication materials, not founded in fact, and has the potential to incite backlash against any guest, host, program or defame their character,” Abunda added.

As a result, the tv host called on the public to stop sharing the invented story.

“We appeal to the public to stop sharing fabricated and unverified information.”“Thank you. – The Boy Abunda Talk Channel,” he ended.

This Friday, another fake and destructive information was released on social media by Marcos’ detractors.

Some of those who posted it are the Bardagulan FB Page and a person named Lea Marie Cruz-Torres who are now being closely tracked by the authorities.
