SENATOR Christopher “Bong” Go has expressed his appreciation for the trust and support of various groups to the administration as he vowed to continue and pursue further the programs and vision started by President Rodrigo Duterte for the betterment of the country.

Go recently filed his Certificate of Candidacy for vice president in the upcoming 2022 elections as he took on the challenge of ensuring the continuity and sustainability of the plans and programs of the Duterte administration.

“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa lahat ng suporta at pagtitiwalang natatanggap natin. Sama-sama nating ipagpatuloy ang mga magagandang programa at tunay na pagbabagong naumpisahan ni Pangulong Duterte — at sisikapin nating dagdagan pa ang mga ito,” said Go.

“Hindi ko sasayangin ang bawat oras, minuto, o pagkakataon na ibinibigay sa akin ng taumbayan na magserbisyo sa aking kapwa. Kapalit ng inyong tiwala at suporta, ibabalik ko sa inyo ang serbisyong may malasakit, tunay at nararapat,” he stressed.

The ruling party, PDP-Laban, which Go is a part of as its Auditor, has committed its full support to ensure continuity in government. This is in pursuance of its party Chairman, President Duterte’s campaign against corruption, illegal drugs, and criminality towards the shared vision of providing a comfortable life for all Filipinos.

“Para sa aking mga kapartido sa PDP-Laban at sa iba pang lubos na sumusuporta sa mga adhikain ng administrasyong ito, huwag kayong mag-alala dahil hindi namin kayo pababayaan,” Go assured.

“Nandirito pa rin po si Pangulong Duterte bilang ating pinuno at number 1 campaigner. Wala pong iwanan sa laban na ito!,” he added.

Meanwhile, Greco Belgica, chair of the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission, has already indicated his support for Go’s vice presidential run, as has the Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan group that he heads.

“Si Kuya Bong Go na ang bisyo ay magserbisyo, suportado ni Greco!” stated Belgica in a Facebook post.

Belgica said he trusts Go because of the excellent public service he has provided to the country, as proven, for example, by the Senator’s Malasakit Center initiative. He also stated that Go can continue the current administration’s positive changes, such as the Build Build Build Program and the campaign against illegal drugs, criminality, and corruption.

Go cited the necessity to continue the reform that the current administration has began as the reason for his decision to run. He intends to pursue and expand these efforts further towards overcoming this pandemic by achieving economic recovery, providing job opportunities, and addressing hunger and poverty.

“Upang makamtan ang layuning ito, palalaguin natin ang mga oportunidad pangkabuhayan sa bawat sulok ng bansa. Sosolusyunan natin ang hirap at gutom dahil importante na maalagaan ang tiyan ng bawat Pilipino,” he said.

“Sisiguraduhin nating magiging mabilis, maayos at abot-kaya ang serbisyong pangkalusugan tulad ng naibibigay na tulong ng Malasakit Centers sa mga nangangailangan,” he added.

“Titiyakin rin nating matatapos ang mga nasimulang Build Build Build projects upang maisakatuparan ang mas maginhawa at komportableng buhay para sa lahat,” he further assured.

Should the Filipino people elect him, Go has vowed to be a “working vice president,” noting that he will not just be a “spare tire” but rather a public servant that ordinary Filipinos can turn to.

“Kung papalarin ako at bibigyan ng pagkakataon ng mga kapwa ko Pilipino, at sa pagpatnubay ng ating Panginoon, I will be a working Vice President na gagawin ang lahat ng aking makakaya para makapagsilbi sa inyo. Hindi ako magiging spare tire o reserba lamang. Asahan ninyo na ako ay totoong magtatrabaho — hindi lang sa salita, kundi sa gawa,” he vowed.

“I don’t want to be remembered as just another senator or Vice President. I want to be remembered as a Public Servant na nalalapitan ng sinumang ordinaryong mamamayan at buong pusong nagsisilbi para sa ikabubuti ng bansa. Ako si Kuya Bong Go at ang aking bisyo ay magserbisyo. Nandito ako para maipagpatuloy ang tunay na pagbabagong inaasam natin,” he added.
