A recent survey of 1,500 registered voters conducted by Publicus Asia ranked Senator Christopher “Bong” Go first in terms of “overall trustworthiness” among the current members of the Senate.

The Pahayag-Quarter 2 survey is an independent and non-commissioned poll conducted by the firm from July 13 to 19.

Go expressed his gratitude to his fellow Filipinos who continue to trust and support him and the Duterte administration.

“Maraming salamat sa mga kababayan nating nagtitiwala sa aking kakayahan at intensyon na mag-serbisyo ng tapat at lubos. Kayo ang nagsisilbing inspirasyon at lakas namin upang ipagpatuloy at paigtingin pa lalo ang serbisyo namin para sa kapakanan ng bawat Pilipino,” said Go.

“Kami ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, patuloy kaming magseserbisyo sa abot ng aming makakaya. Sa mga kasamahan ko, sana gamitin natin itong inspirasyon upang mas lalong pagbutihin ang ating serbisyo sa taumbayan bilang pagkilala sa tiwala na ibinibigay nila sa atin,” he continued.

In the same survey, Go also ranked top 3 among senators in terms of overall performance rating. Meanwhile, President Rodrigo adulterate still enjoys remarkably high trust and performance ratings as seen in the same study conducted.

Go remarked during the inauguration of the 131st Malasakit Center in DO Plaza Memorial Hospital, Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, that while he is pleased with the survey’s findings, he is more concerned with meeting the needs of Filipinos amid the crisis.

“Ulitin ko lang po sa mga kapwa ko Pilipino, maraming salamat po sa inyong tiwala, at mas lalo pa po akong magsisipag na makapagserbisyo po sa ating kapwa Pilipino… pero importante po malampasan muna natin itong krisis dulot ng COVID-19. Unahin muna natin na malampasan natin itong krisis na ito,” said Go.

“Pulitika, mamaya na po yan, bakuna muna bago ang pulitika, ‘yan po ang importante sa ngayon, ‘yan po ang inaantay ng Pilipino ngayon na makabalik tayo sa normal na pamumuhay,” he added.

Go stated that the Filipino people’s confidence in him will motivate him to continue his work as a senator and public servant.

“Ulitin ko lang salamat po sa tiwala. Lalo akong gaganahan na magtrabaho, nakakawala po ng pagod. Sa totoo lang po, hirap kami ni Pangulong Duterte sa sitwasyon ngayon pero kapag nakikita po namin ang mga Pilipino na masaya — makapag-iwan man lang kami ng konting ngiti sa panahon ng kanilang pagdadalamhati — nawawala po ang pagod ko,” said Go.

In response to questions if he is running for higher office in 2022, Go once more dismissed speculations and reiterated that he is not interested. Nevertheless, he thanked Filipinos for showing faith in him and vowed to continue working hard as a legislator and public servant.

“Pero let me repeat kung tungkol po sa pulitika, I am not interested. Count me out… alam ko po ang hirap ng trabaho ng isang pangulo, witness po ako dyan nakikita ko po si Pangulong Duterte, napakahirap po ng trabaho ng isang pangulo, napakahirap talaga,” said Go.

“I leave my fate to God, I leave my fate to the Dutertes — kung anuman po ang maging desisyon nila suportado ko, and to the Filipino people… sa mga kapwa kong Pilipino na nagbigay sa akin ng pagkakataon na makapagserbisyo, kaya nagpapasalamat po ako sa inyo at hindi ko sasayangin ito,” he added.

The Senator emphasized that his focus remains on more pressing tasks at hand especially in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of public services to Filipinos who need help the most.

“Kami po ni Pangulong Duterte, hindi po namin sasayangin ang pagkakataon na makapagserbisyo lalo sa taumbayan. 24/7 po kami magtatrabaho para sa aming kapwa Pilipino… hindi namin sasayangin ang bawat oras, bawat araw, bawat minuto po na ibinigay nyo sa amin na makapagserbisyo po sa inyo,” he said.
