SENATOR Christopher “Bong” Go reaffirmed his commitment to uplift the lives of Filipinos as he showed his support to the local candidates under the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), who he hopes can continue the Duterte legacy of providing a more comfortable life for all.

Go personally joined the PDP-Laban’s proclamation rally on Saturday, March 26, at the Babak Gymnasium in the Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte, wherein he expressed optimism that the party’s candidates will be able to continue the positive changes brought by the Duterte Administration.

The senator then encouraged the Samaleños to support candidates who have showed their dedication to public service.

As senator, Go assured that he will continue to exert great efforts to ensure that the programs and initiatives to boost the development of Samal Island will push through even amid the pandemic and other crises.

As Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, the senator was instrumental in the road improvements, water system projects and construction of multipurpose buildings in several barangays in the city. He also supported the acquisition of an ambulance unit for the local government of the island.

Meanwhile, as part of his commitment to bring quality healthcare services to more Filipinos, Go encouraged those with health concerns to visit any of the 151 Malasakit Centers established nationwide, particularly those nearby in Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Davao City or at Davao Regional Medical Center in Tagum City where poor and indigent patients can conveniently access medical assistance programs from the government.

“Ano ba itong Malasakit Center? PhilHealth, PCSO, DOH, at DSWD.

To date, there are 151 Malasakit Centers that have assisted over three million Filipinos across the country. Go is the principal author and sponsor of the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019.

Also serving as the Chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, Go concluded his remarks by urging the public to remain vigilant and continue following the health protocols against COVID-19 especially during the campaign season.

He urged those eligible to participate in the national vaccination drive and emphasized that getting inoculated would significantly contribute to the faster economic recovery of the country.
