WillieSENATOR Christopher “Bong” Go provided bicycles, shoes, and computer tablets to Wowowin participants, upon the request of TV host Willie Revillame. Go expressed that he continues to provide any assistance or support he can for Filipinos most affected by the pandemic.

In a video clip from the television show, host Willie Revillame expressed gratitude to the Senator for the gifts he donated, which will be given away by Wowowin.

In a prior statement, Go noted that due to social distancing measures, public transportation remained a difficulty for many Filipinos in many parts of the country.

It is for this reason that, during his teams’ visits to fellow Filipinos in crisis situations, Go has been distributing bicycles to help some of the beneficiaries commute with ease during the pandemic.

In the past, he has also encouraged local government units to establish bicycle lanes with correct lane markings, road safety signs, and lighting, among other safety measures, in coordination with concerned government agencies.

“This is both to encourage more people to use bicycles as an active mode of transportation and to ensure their safety, particularly those plying busy streets in big cities,” Go said.

The Senator also urged commuters to consider bicycles as a good alternative form of active transportation.

Go advised, particularly after some sectors called for the installation of sufficient lighting along bicycle lanes.

Go has also been distributing computer tablets to children to help them access educational materials and participate in blended learning classes being implemented in schools.

Napaka-importante na makapagtapos kayo—bagama’t blended learning ngayon–dahil edukasyon ang tanging puhunan ninyo,” Go would emphasize in his visits.

Moreover, Go has been providing shoes to less fortunate individuals even before he became Senator. He emphasized that not all Filipinos are privileged enough to buy their own footwear and that providing such to underprivileged individuals can help them be more productive in uplifting their lives and livelihoods.

Throughout the pandemic, Go continues to provide support to vulnerable groups, essential workers, indigents, and underprivileged communities to help them cope with the adverse socio-economic impact of the crisis.

And even before the pandemic, Go consistently responds to communities in crisis situations such as fires and calamities.
