Bomb threats hit Hall of Justice buildings in Mandaue, Cebu Cities

BOMB threats on Wednesday rocked the Hall of Justice buildings in the cities of Mandaue and Cebu.

The first bomb threat was received through a text message by Presiding Judge Marlon Jay Moneva of the Cebu City’s Hall of Justice in Quimonda Building in Bgy. Carreta at 1:32 p.m. on Wednesday.

Employees were forced to evacuate as personnel of the Explosives Ordnance Division personnel inspected the entire building, along with bomb-sniffing dogs.

According to the sender, who accused workers of the Hall of Justice of being corrupt, seven bombs were planted in the building.

No bomb was found.

The Mandaue City Police Office, meanwhile, received the alarm about a bomb threat at the Mandaue City Hall of Justice in Bgy. Tipolo at 2:07 p.m. also on Wednesday.

An employee from the City Prosecutor’s Office received a bomb threat message from a sender using the cellphone number +63950 229 7634.

The message said a bomb was sent to the office of the lawyer.

All personnel were asked to go outside as police checked the building.

Hearings and other activities were also suspended for hours.

Members of the Special Weapons and Tactics and EOD rushed to the area and inspected the building and no bombs were found.

Authorities are investigated the twin bomb scares.
