Bogus cop nabbed in Zambales
Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — A man who introduced himself as a fake cop was arrested on Tuesday in Cabangan, Zambales.
In a report to Zambales police provincial director Col. Romano Velayo Cardino, Cabangan municipal police chief Lt. Simon Rozal Gonzales identified the arrested suspect as Lt. Col. Dela Cruz, 43, of 06 Davis St., Olongapo City.
Dela Cruz was driving an SUV with five minors passengers when flagged down by police officers in Barangay Dolores, Cabangan, Zambales. He failed to show a valid identification card.
Police recovered from the vehicle a .45 caliber pistol loaded with magazine and six live bullets.
Dela Cruz will be charged with violation of Art.177 (Usurpation of Authority), Art .179 (Unauthorized Used of PNP Uniform) of RA 10591 (Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition) and RA 11332.
