BOC pinuri ng House tax chief sa nasabat na 1.4M vape na tinangkang ipuslit sa bansa
PINURI ni House Ways and Means Chair Joey Sarte Salceda, ng Albay, ang Bureau of Customs (BOC) na pinamumunuan ni Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio, sa pagkakasabat ng 1.4 milyong electronic cigarette sa isang warehouse sa Valenzuela na umano’y ipinasok sa bansa ng hindi binabayaran ang tamang buwis.
Ang mga vape ay may tatak na “Manufactured by Flava Corporation,” ay dapat umanong magbayad ng P728 milyong excise tax at P84 milyong Value-Added Tax sa gobyerno.
“The report of the Bureau of Customs is complete, concise, and actionable. I would like to congratulate Commissioner Rubio, Assistant Commissioner Vincent Philip Maronilla, and the staff in charge of the entire process for the way they handled this,” sabi ni Salceda.
“This was extremely professional and BOC took very sensible measures,” dagdag pa ng chairperson ng komite.
Upang mas mapaigting ang kampanya laban sa mga produktong hindi nagbabayad ng tamang buwis, sinabi ni Salceda na makabubuti kung magtatalaga ang Bureau of Internal Revenue ng Revenue Office on Premise (ROOP) sa lugar kung nasaan ang FLAVA.
“The place of business of FLAVA did not have a Revenue Office on Premise (ROOP) assigned to it. The BIR should faithfully implement ROOP rule for electronic cigarette manufacturers,” sabi ni Salceda.
