Bloody Saturday for 3 druggies slain in Ecija stings
CABANATUAN CITY – It was a bloody Saturday for three suspected drug peddlers who were killed in separate buy-busts after engaging undercover operatives in alleged gunbattles in Nueva Ecija, police reported on Sunday.
In Zaragosa, police chief Major Jaime Ferrer said suspected drug suspect Tommy Sagun, 48, of Bgy. San Juan, Aliaga was neutralized after allegedly selling drugs at 7:20 p.m. in Bgy. Concepcion.
Recovered at the encounter site were 10 plastic sachets with suspected shabu, the buy-bust money worth P500 and the suspect’s cal. 38 revolver with two fired shells and three live bullets.
In this city, police head Lt. Col. Julius Ceazar Manucdoc said the armed encounter transpired at 5:15 p.m.in Purok 7, Bgy. Talipapa which resulted in the death of a suspected drug personality identified as Richard Enriquez, of Bgy. Caalibangbangan.
Manucdoc said the suspect became hostile after selling shabu to a police poseur buyer and fired at his operatives triggering a firefight which resulted in his instantaneous death.
In General Tinio, Major Ronnie Caagbay, town police head identified the slain drug suspect as Edward De Belen, who was neutralized during a sting in Bgy. Rio Chico at 9:40 p.m. Saturday.
