Birchton stamps class at MMTCI
THE 2024 PHILRACOM First Leg 3YO Imported/Local Challenge, held last Sept. , at the Metro Manila Turf Club, Inc. (MMTCI) in Malvar, Batangas, was a thrilling spectacle of speed and skill.
The 1,600-meter race, with a guaranteed gross prize of P 1,000,000, saw an impressive performance from all participants, but it was Birchton who stole the show.
Birchton, sired by Maclean’s Music out of ChaseTheGold, and owned by Felizardo R. Sevilla Jr., led the race from start to finish.
Trained by Dante I. Salazar and expertly ridden by jockey Jeffril T. Zarate, Birchton showcased exceptional prowess, clocking an official time of 25-22’-24-29, totaling 1:40.8.
This victory earned Birchton the top prize of P600,000.
The race for second place was contested between Perfect Shot and Heart Ofa Champion, with Perfect Shot edging out for the runner-up position.
Part Time Lover finished in last place, while Border Force was scratched from the race due to being off-feed.
. The prize distribution for the race was as follows: the first place received P600,000, second place P225,000, third place P125,000.00, and fourth place P50,000.
