biggest transport groups in the country with millions of members nationwide threw their support to the BBM-Sara UniTeam as they firmly believed that the UniTeam will help the interest of the transport sector.

Orlando Marquez, national president, Liga ng Transportasyon at Operators sa Pilipinas (LTOP), announced the support of the transport sector on Friday during a visit at the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) office Friday afternoon in Mandaluyong City.

Presidential candidate Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. is the standard-bearer of the PFP.

“Among all candidates running for the said position, only presidential candidate Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr., laid a concrete plan in order to help and advance our interest as stakeholders of the public land transportation service,” an open letter of support signed by Marquez and three other transport group leaders said.

Other signatories were Armando Delos Reyes, national chairman of National Federation of Transport Cooperative (NFTC); Atoy Sta. Cruz, national president, Motorcycle Federation of the Philippines, Inc.; and Noel Bitara, national president, Tricycle Operators, and Drivers Association of the Philippines Inc. (LTOP-TODA).

“He (Marcos) made a firm commitment to our sector that our plight will be included in the priority agenda of his government,” the letter added

Marquez also said that the UniTeam has listened to the plight of the transport sector, which is why majority of its members were always present in the campaign sorties and caravans to voluntarily support the BBM-Sara tandem.

“Walang ikot sa campaign rally na hindi kasali ang aming mga miyembro. Boluntaryo po ito at wala kaming hinihinging kahit anong pondo. Naniniwala lamang kami na ang UniTeam ang makatutulong sa mga problema sa aming sektor kaya todo ang aming suporta,” Marquez told PFP Sec. Gen. Thompson Lantion in a meeting.

For his part, Lantion welcomed the support of the transport groups as it will boost the campaign of the UniTeam.

“We appreciate the support of the transport sector. As you know, the BBM-Sara UniTeam has been in constant communication with the transport sector to identify its problems as it will play a vital role in UniTeam’s platform to recover from the pandemic,” Lantion said.

It can be recalled that apart from solving traffic woes in the metropolis, the BBM-Sara UniTeam also vowed to help improve the mass transport system in the country.

They are also planning to continue and improve the successful Build, Build, Build program of the Duterte administration.
