Bicol MWP for murder falls in Sto. Tomas

CAMP GEN. MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas – A “most wanted person” or MWP for the murder was nabbed on Sunday by joint operatives in a police operation conducted in Sto. Tomas City, Batangas, at around 8:30 a.m.

A report by Batangas Police Director Col. Pedro D. Soliba to PRO-CALABARZON (Police Regional Office – Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon) Regional Director P/Brig. Gen. Jose Melecio C. Nartatez, Jr., the 40-year-old suspect, a construction worker, native of Camarines Norte, and temporarily living in Barangay San Pablo in Sto. Tomas.

Led by Sto. Tomas City Police Station Chief P/Lt. Col John Eric B. Antonio, together with the joint elements of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 5, Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIT) Camarines Norte, Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) 5, PIT Batangas, PNP IG TSD, CN CIDT, Mercedes MPS, MARPSTA 5, CN 1st PMFC, and CN RID/RSOU 5 conducted an operation arrested the suspect.

The warrant of arrest was issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 41 of Daet Camarines Norte on January 14, 2019.

According to the authorities, the killing happened on November 7, 2018, in Purok 4, Barangay Lanot Mercedes, Camarines Norte, where the MWP, while armed with a bolo, repeatedly hacked the victim resulting in his immediate death.

The suspect has been properly turned over and is now under the custody of RIU (Regional Intelligence Unit) 5, Camarines Norte, and there is no bail recommended.

Soliba said, “We give recognition to accomplishments like this. In several years of hiding the so-called wanted in the law, this is only proof that the guilty person will pay for his sin and responsibility to the law.”
