POLICE Regional Office 5 (PRO 5) Director Brigadier General Mario A. Reyes announced the capture of a suspected New People’s Army (NPA) member wanted for a non-bailable murder case in the Bicol region on Monday.

In a report to Philippine National Police Officer-in-Charge (PNP-OIC) Lieutenant General Vicente D. Danao Jr., the official said the suspect is tagged as the no. 1 most wanted person (MWP) in Bulusan, Sorsogon.

Brig. Gen. Reyes said that members of the Sorsogon Police Provincial Office, the Bulusan Municipal Police Station, and the Army’s 903 Brigade arrested the suspect on the strength of a warrant for murder issued by Judge Rofebar Gerona of the Sorsogon City Regional Trial Court Branch 53 last May 25.

The court recommended no bail for the temporary liberty of the suspect.

The suspect has been identified as a member of the NPA Celso Command under the CPP (Communist Party of the Philippines)/NPA Bicol Regional Party Committee’s Komiteng Probinsiya 3.

Lt. Gen. Danao commended the Bicol police for arresting another most wanted rebel personality.

“Our unyielding effort in the campaign against most wanted persons will continue without let up to give justice to the abused and victims, especially those who have been seeking recompense for a long time,” the top cop said.
