Bicol cops jail widower who turned daughter into sex slave
A 40-YEAR-old widower in Caramoran, Catanduanes wanted for turning his daughter into a virtual sex slave is now in jail facing a non-bailable offense, Police Regional Office 5 director, Brigadier General Jonnel C. Estomo said Friday.
Suspect Resty Dellava, a construction worker, was arrested in his residence in San Andres on the strength of a warrant of arrest for 18 counts of rape issued by the Virac, Catanduanes Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 42, said the Bicol police director.
According to Estomo, the suspect was accused of sexually abusing his teenage daughter from August to November last year.
The victim sought the help of her relatives in going to the local police women and children protection unit which immediately investigated the complaint and later filed criminal charges against the accused.
The suspect was arrested shortly after the Virac RTC Banch 42 issued a warrant of arrest against the accused without giving him the opportunity to post bail.
Prior to his arrest, the suspect has been listed as the No. 1 most wanted person in Caramoran, said Estomo, who has instructed all Bicol police units to fully account for most wanted persons in their areas of responsibility, specifically those facing rape cases and other.
