FOUR most wanted persons in Bicol, three of them facing non-bailable rape cases, were arrested by the local police in separate manhunt operations in the region, Police Regional Office 5 (PRO5) director, Brigadier General Jonnel C. Estomo said on Sunday.

“We have accounted for three more wanted rape suspects in Bicol in line with the stepped up efforts against criminality ordered by PNP chief, General Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, specifically when it comes to our efforts to account for all persons involved in heinous crimes,” said Estomo.

The official identified the wanted rape suspects as Arman Jarabese alias ‘Bok,’ a hardware store helper from Oas, Albay; Darwin Barotilla, a waiter from Mauway, Mandaluyong City; and Jason Yet, a farmer from Vinzons, Camarines Norte.

Brig. Gen. Estomo said that Jarabese, tagged as the no. 1 most wanted person in Oas, Albay, was arrested in Barangay Pinagkuartelan in Pandi, Bulacan on the basis of a warrant for two counts of statutory rape and child abuse issued in June 2017 by Judge Jose Demosthenes Salgado of the Ligao City Regional Trial Court Branch 12.

The official said Barotilla, a resident of 108 NCMH Compound in Mandaluyong City, was arrested in Bgy. Rawis in Libon, Albay on the basis of a warrant issued by Judge Joanne Hernandez-Lazo of the Mandaluyong City RTC Branch 5 last July 30. The suspect was accused of sexually abusing a minor.

The 3rd identified as Yet was arrested in Purok 6 in Bgy. Guinacutan in Vinzons, Camarines Norte on the strength of a warrant for statutory rape and sexual assault in relation to the anti-child abuse law issued by Judge Rene de la Cruz of the Daet RTC Branch 5 in Camarines Norte last September 15.
